The Shadowman kept a smile on his face, but inwardly he rolled his eyes as he took the fee. This man had about as much magic in him as a wet blanket. Probably would be just as happy with a fortune cookie. “I can do that, sure, just a normal reading. But most have a question they want the cards to answer. Gives it a place to focus.” Dr Facilier explained, shuffling the cards and spreading them into the familiar double diamond shape.
“Now the tip of this diamon’, right here. This is what could be.” He gestured to the other diamond. “Now this is what shall be if you keep down the path you’re in.” Dr Facilier waved his hands over the cards, letting them speak for themselves as the turned over on their own. He sat down and pointed at the bottom two cards of each diamond. “The fool, this means, that for a time you did as you pleased. And this one right here, this is the Wheel of Justice. It means that either you got something you deserved or helped someone else get what they deserved.”
Dr Facilier raised his eyebrows, looked liked blondie was more interesting than he thought.
Phoebus watched as the man read the cards to him. He noticed that they were actually describing his past. His eyes widened and he wanted to know more.” Those cards are,uh, right.”
He let out a loud guffaw, his shadow snickering behind him. “Of course they are, my good man. I’m no charlatan.” Dr Facilier replied, his hand hovered over the career card, flipping it. “The hanged man, means you recently have began looking at things a different way.” The slender man continued, realizing why everything had changed for this man as soon as he flipped the two paths cards. “Ah, I see.” He held up the Sun card. “You got yourself a girl you follow like the sun.” Dr Facilier kept a smile on his face, but had lost quite a bit of interest. Nothing like a good man who changed for a woman. “And this one is the moon, meaning if you were to leave her you’d wander like someone lost in the dark with only the light of the moon.”
